Overturned 18-Wheeler Leads to Tragic Death on 410 Loop in San Antonio, Texas

 

A motorcyclist died tragically yesterday morning, after an 18-wheeler overturned along the 410 Loop in San Antonio, Texas.

Truck Driver Lost Control, Spilled Gravel Across Road

The July 11th crash occurred shortly after 11:30 a.m., near Somerset Road on the South Side.

According to San Antonio Police, the driver of a westbound 18-wheeler was hauling gravel and suddenly lost control of his rig. The tractor-trailer subsequently rolled over, spilling gravel across the 410 Loop and onto the median.

Motorcyclist Was Unable to Stop After 18-Wheeler Crash

Westbound traffic apparently came to a halt as motorists attempted to avoid the wreck. Unfortunately, a motorcyclist was unable to stop and slammed into another vehicle.

Once first responders arrived, they found the 46-year-old man on the ground. Despite efforts to revive him at the crash scene, he was pronounced dead shortly before noon.

18-Wheeler Driver Taken to San Antonio Hospital

Paramedics rushed the 18-wheeler driver to University Hospital in San Antonio, where he is receiving treatment for serious and possibly life-threatening injuries. Authorities have not released any further information on his condition.

So far, its not clear what might have caused the driver to lose control of his truck. The San Antonio 18-wheeler crash remains under investigation.
