Misha Paltiyevich – Trial Lawyer

Misha is a trial lawyer who represents individuals and families impacted by catastrophic injuries and wrongful death.

Before dedicating his practice to helping injury victims, Misha spent nearly a decade representing major corporations, insurance carriers, and maritime and energy companies in high-stakes litigation. This experience gives him a unique insider perspective on how corporations assess risk, defend cases, and make settlement decisions—insight he now leverages to maximize recoveries for injured individuals and their families.

Misha has extensive experience handling serious personal injury and wrongful death cases, including those arising from:

  • Oilfield, refinery, and industrial accidents
  • Offshore and maritime injuries
  • Trucking and 18-wheeler crashes
  • Workplace explosions and construction site accidents
  • Defective products and automotive product liability claims

Misha’s experience in post-incident investigations—including catastrophic incidents involving the United States Coast Guard and the National Transportation Safety Board—makes him particularly adept at uncovering critical facts that others might overlook by helping him identify key evidence early, anticipate defense strategies, and build the strongest possible case from the outset.

Misha has been widely recognized for his expertise and dedication to his clients. He was elected as a 2024 Texas Super Lawyers “Rising Star”—one of just five attorneys in Texas honored for proficiency in Transportation and Maritime Law. He has also been recognized by his peers in Best Lawyers in America for his work in Admiralty and Maritime Law. He is licensed to practice in all Texas state and federal courts.

Misha is deeply engaged in the maritime and legal communities, actively contributing to industry organizations and mentorship programs. Misha currently serves as First Mate (Vice President) of the Houston Mariners Club, helping lead one of the region’s most respected marine and energy professional organizations. He also sits on the advisory board of the Houston Maritime Center and Museum, supporting its efforts to preserve and promote Houston’s rich maritime history. In addition, Misha is committed to mentoring future maritime lawyers, serving as a coach and program director for the University of Houston Law Center’s John R. Brown Admiralty Moot Court Team.

Although he immigrated from Russia at a young age, Misha was raised in San Antonio, Texas. He earned his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center, where he served as an editor of the Houston Journal of International Law and competed on the nationally recognized moot court team. Before law school, he attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he was a member of the men’s club soccer team.

When he’s not advocating for his clients, Misha enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors with his wife, Stacy, and their two children. A devoted Longhorns fan, he can be found most Saturday afternoons cheering on Texas football. He also continues to play competitive soccer, though not quite at the same pace of his glory days.
