What Does Pulling Unit Do on an Oilfield?
A puling unit is used to remove the casing and other tubing apparatuses inside a well bar or drilling rods inside a wellbore.
The equipment is deployed to a drilling site when a wellbore shows signs of internal damage, such as an obvious leak or a sudden drop in pressure of the drilling fluid at the surface. A pulling unit lifts the casing and other damaged components out of the wellbore to facilitate repairs.
Pulling units are portable and are usually mounted to a heavy-duty truck or vehicle. They are typically operated by contract workers in the employ of an oilfield service company.
