The driver of a pickup truck was seriously injured Tuesday morning, following a collision with an 18-wheeler near Ore City, Texas.
18-Wheeler Failed to Yield Before Being Struck by Toyota Tacoma
The accident occurred at 6:30 a.m., December 12, 2017, along State Highway 259 about 2 miles north of Ore City.
A preliminary report from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) indicates that the 18-wheeler failed to yield as it was exiting a parking lot. A 2001 Toyota Tacoma traveling on 259 then collided with the side of the rig.
Pickup Truck Driver Sustained Critical Injuries
Champion EMS transported the injured Tacoma driver to Good Shepherd Hospital in Longview, where he was listed in critical condition.
The 18-wheeler driver escaped the crash without injury.
DPS continues to investigate the accident.
