Martin County, Texas Oilfield Explosion Tragically Kills 2 Workers

 

Two workers died tragically yesterday afternoon, following an explosion at a Martin County, Texas oilfield.

Heater Treater Pressured Up, Igniting Oil and Gas

The March 4th blast occurred shortly before 4:00 p.m., at a site roughly 15 miles north of Stanton, Texas.

Apparently, a crew was working on a Heater Treater when it pressured up, causing oil and gas to ignite.

One Worker Killed on Scene, Another Died on Way to Burn Unit

Responders arriving on scene found one man dead and another badly burned.

Initially, paramedics transferred the injured worker to a Midland hospital. He died Monday night, however, on his way to a burn unit in Lubbock, Texas.

So far, Martin County authorities have not identified the deceased workers or their employers.

Monday afternoon’s explosion remains under investigation.
