A dream road trip across the United States turned tragic for two nurses from the United Kingdom late last month when their vehicle was involved in a crash with a tour bus near the Grand Canyon in Arizona.
Passenger Vehicle Collided with Tour Bus Along U.S. 93
The deadly wreck along U.S. 93 occurred shortly after 1:00 p.m. on January 21st, near milepost 173, about 25 miles north of Wickenburg.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the deceased were riding in a Jeep that was attempting to pass a slower-moving commercial bus when the collision occurred. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Three people, including the driver of the Jeep, another occupant, and a bus passenger, were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
The tragic accident remains under investigation.

The particular stretch of U.S. 93 where the women died is known for being dangerous.
In fact, just last November, three people were killed in a fiery head-on crash on the same highway near Congress, about five miles from where the most recent incident occurred.
U.S. 93 is the primary route for drivers between Phoenix and Las Vegas, Nevada, making it heavily traveled. According to ABC-15 Arizona, fatal crashes along the same section of highway claimed 35 lives from 2015 to 2020.
