Are there Different Types of Traumatic Brain Injuries?

Traumatic brain injuries are generally classified as 1 of 3 different types. You can have a mild traumatic brain injury, which can be something as common as a concussion to the patient losing consciousness for up to 30 minutes. Then you also have moderate traumatic brain injuries, which result from the patient losing consciousness for longer than 30 minutes but less than 24 hours. Then you’ll have severe traumatic brain injuries, and that’s typically where the patient is in a coma.
