What is the difference between Jones Act negligence and unseaworthiness?
Jones Act Negligence is about the injury that you’ve sustained. The unseaworthiness, it’s about the vessel itself and whether or not it was properly equipped to do the job that it was doing and whether or not the crew was competent. Those are the aspects of unseaworthiness that we will look at. It’s an additional part of a claim that we certainly bring in almost all our Jones Act claims.
