A victim of Sunday’s horrific crash at a Texas mud racetrack has tragically died of his injuries.
Mud-Bog Dragster Crashed Through Guardrail, Into Crowd
He was among the spectators attending the Arracones De Lodo 4X4 event at Fabens Racetrack, located in the 17600 block of Island Guadalupe Road, about 40 miles from the city of El Paso and roughly a mile from the Mexico border. According to officials, the 21-year-old man was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The June 13th crash occurred around 6:35 p.m., just after the start of the race. For reasons that remain unclear, one of the mud-bog dragsters went out of control, left the racetrack, and crashed through a guardrail into a crowd of spectators.
Cries from children and an announcer saying in Spanish, “get back, get back” can be heard in a video showing people running toward the crash site.
Three other vehicles were also struck as a result of the initial crash
